First Stained Glass Project
Glass Crafters was the 1st glass store I ever walked into & I was so awed & taken back by the beauty of the glass & the help of the staff. I purchased a lot of the glass & supplies for this project at your store. What started out as a cartoon vision drawn on a restaurant placemat, sent to my husband's Aunt in FL. with measurements of the window, begging her to design & construct our dream vision, turned into her teaching me how to do stained glass in less than 2 wks. When we arrived at her place last Feb. 2013, she had gathered pictures & had her granddaughter draw out our vision on poster board made to the size of given measurements for the trapezoid windows. Aunt Gayle had a pattern sized for the blue heron & had already cut the glass for the blue heron, cattails, some water, sky, frog, lily pad & flowers. When I got there she had me do a small project first. Then we cut a few more of the pcs for this project. To make a long story short, she had the pcs shipped to me & I took it from there. The rest was up to me. Thru a few surgeries, I then completed these 3 panels before the end of August. This project was done in 3 panels, each 24\" wide for a total width of 72\"; the 1st panel being 28\" tall down to 22-5/8\" to 17-1/4\" to 12\". This piece was constructed w/copper foil & solder method. I am soon to embark on designing & completing the mirror trapezoid window with another 3 panels.
