Antique Repro
Good morning, I've been doing stained glass for about 19 months and can't get enough of this fantastic hobby. Your website has been very helpful to me and I appreciate the time that is obviously put into it. It's easy to navigate and I always find what I need. Attached are two photos of a piece I did in June. I first saw the pattern in a store that was repairing an antique window (maker unknown). The window was mostly plain glass with muted colors in the flower and two bevels. The proprietor was kind enough to let me take a rubbing of the panel and then my husband drew up the pattern for me on his computer. Kinko's printed out the pattern and I was on my way. We live in a wooded area so it was difficult to get pictures that justify the true beauty of the glass. The brown glass on the outer border is very old and was given to me by a friend. The pink glass in the flower is a raspberry colored glue chip, and the green is olive green Bullseye. The plain glass in the center/background is from a 1917 window (our house) that we had replaced. The 2\" faceted jewels work well with the taffeta glass to really dress up the panel. I can't remember the brand of glass I used for the 'stem' in the center but its heavy and has several colors swirled in it. I used lead came for the construction and 1/2\" zinc for the frame. It was fun to build this one! Oddly, six months later, the customer still has not returned numerous phone calls or picked up her panel from the store. I call this piece Antique Repro. Thank you for your consideration of placing my panel on your gallery page. How cool is that!? :) Keep up the good work. We who love everything glass appreciate it.
