Butch
Meet Butch, the runt of a litter we found 18 years ago. He's still very much with us. An original design, life size. Copper foil.
Globe
I actually made two of these! Please notice how the background is continuous and not made of random pieces. Different textured glasses make the topography stand out. Copper foil.
Cat Quilt
Slightly higher than 6 feet and 5 feet wide, the cats are designed from different glasses and each one holds a 2 inch round faceted jewel in its paws. If you can rotate the photo you will see that the image is the same but the cats are all represented in different clear glass. Modified from an old quilt pattern. Copper foil.
Mantle Clock
Mantle Clock. Copper foil. I used Bullseye Glass. Almost always, I find the underside of a sheet of glass to be much more interesting.
Dragonfly Lamp
On rare occasions I find a unique lamp base that implores me to design a shade to go with it. Copper foiled and soldered, patinaed black to match the base, the Uroboros glass is almost Coca Cola colored. The wings are Spectrum iridized.
Stylized Dancers Box
It took some time to get this design depicting two stylized dancers the way I wanted it. This box was made with 1 1/2 X 6 inch bevels for the box bottom, and 1 X 6 inch bevels for the top. I used brass balls for the knob and feet. As with all of the boxes I make, I protected the mirror edges against blackening with S 209 sealant spray, which I have found to work the best of all the products I have tried.
My Backsplash
When I couldn't make a choice for an insert to use as part of my kitchen backsplash, I thought the best thing would be to create my own. I cut the pieces and glued them to a sheet of glass that was placed on top of the pattern. I used the same grout as for the tiles. The colors in the pattern reflect all of the colors in the kitchen.
