California Dreamin'
My name is Ray McElwain and I live in Corning, CA. My studio, Pegasus Art Glass is in one end of my barn. I've been doing stained glass since 1981 when I started as a hobby. The studio grew out of that start. I've done mostly custom, commission work including a church window that was 6' X 24' 6\". The past few years I've been taking stained glass to the Scottish Games, Celtic Faires and horse shows. Good market and lots of contacts. This is \"California Dreamin'. It was my entry in the juried art show at the Western States Horse Expo in Sacramento, CA this year. The Palamino horse was originally bred in California, the flowers are California Poppies and of course, the California sun. It's 18\" X 18\", done in copper foil with a wooden frame. The frame is old lumber, beat up and burned with a torch then wire brushed and varnished. It looks like old barn wood. The pattern is my design drawn with Glass Eye 2000.
