Homasote is a strong, lightweight building board made from 98% recycled paper and compressed under high heat without harmful glues.  We cut glass on it.  We use push pins and horseshoe nails with it.  We solder on it.  All of our tables are covered with it.  It is a terrific all around work surface for stained glass projects.
